Fleet Week, San Francisco

12-01-2024

San Francisco Fleet Week was buzzing with excitement this year, even if the skies decided to play a little game of hide-and-seek with the sun. The famous Blue Angels’ flight might have been grounded by the overcast weather, but that didn’t stop the day from delivering some high-flying thrills!
I watched the show from Aquatic Park, where I had a front-row view of the heart-pounding performances. The F-22s and F-35Bs brought some serious power to the lineup, zooming by with an unmistakable roar. The Patriots Jet Team painted the sky with precision, and “Fat Albert,” the Blue Angels’ massive C-130, made quite the impression even without its winged siblings.
And then there were the special acts: Greg Colyer’s Ace Maker T-33 with a sleek two-ship display, plus Randy Howell and Corey Lovell wowed the crowd with a demo that left everyone craning their necks. From the crowd’s cheers to the thunderous sounds overhead, SF Fleet Week was a celebration of skill, speed, and sky-high excitement. Even on a cloudy day, these pilots brought the blue skies to us!
